frank dolan ::
drums, percussion, nit-picking

a former model, frank wrapped up his fashion career with a bang (during a show for gentleman sophisticate magazine, someone placed a pack of firecrackers in his calvins). since arriving on our shores, this expatriot Iris(h) rhythmatist has made noise on all three coasts, with one of us, swingtree, larry mitchell, fiction ... and the list goes on. frank has been a drum teacher, a recording engineer and a producer, and has co-written the rhythm knowledge series of drum-instruction manuals. in fighting Iris, he's finally found a home for his wandering spirit, and his ancestors would surely understand that he's "proud to be Iris".

chad ::
voices, guitars, keyboards, narcotics

a former model, chad abandoned a lucrative modeling career to become a bmi-affiliated writer and publisher. chad is the founder of fighting Iris, and the band's chief songwriter. previously the leader of the popular orange county pop band reverie, chad rose to local prominence as the androgynous lead singer of l.a.'s the great beyond. he's written songs for rex smith and stacey q, as well as penning tunes for several films. chad prides himself on his biodegradability and hopes to one day fulfill his lifelong dream: to become Master of the Elements.

Ted Yashoda ::
important guitars, wisdom

a former model, ted retired from the runway in his native japan to pursue a career in music. he began playing the guitar at the tender age of 12, eventually touring his homeland with japanese rock sensations crisis. at 21, he packed up his guitar and moved to the u.s., performing with several high-profile projects (nove, teleman and kwanza jones), and working with jane's addiction producer brian jerden at hollywood's el dorado studios. when ted is not busting out melodic guitar riffs for fighting Iris, he constructs false mustaches for general custer's wild west kabuki theatre. "it's real human hair," says ted.

derek j niño ::
bass, bigger bass, even bigger bass

a former model, derek left the hustle and bustle of hustling bustles to lay down the low end. after spending most of the nineties with the eighties-influenced esoteric, he briefly veered a little towards the dark-side, enduring enjoying a stint in a&r. loath to forfeit his musical soul, multi-instrumentalist derek used this hiatus from live performance to hone his songwriting and production skills on an album's worth of solo material. wise to the ways of the bean, derek hopes to one day open a chain of der taco mexican restaurants.
